Jean Rado-Thorso
Her sculpture represents the culmination of years of study and work that began as a childhood desire to be a Disney animator. In high school in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Jean caught the interest of an inspiring art teacher and her path was set. Following her degree in Fine Arts from the University of Iowa, Jean continued to study and refine her talent wherever she found herself from the l’Ecole des Beaux Art (Geneva, Switzerland) to New York Art Student’s League to Otis/Parson’s (Los Angeles) to Marble carving in Pietrasanta, Italy as well as with Don Gale, Bruno Lucchesi, and Robert Cunningham in private studios.
